Senior Network Engineer
ALPHA IT is growing. Our client environments are growing with us. We need a Senior Network Engineer who can take ownership of complex infrastructure projects, guide junior technicians, and bring deep technical credibility to client relationships. If you want to do real enterprise network work — not just monitor dashboards — this is the role.
The role
Responsibilities
- →Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure for managed clients: switching, routing, firewalls, wireless
- →Lead infrastructure projects: office moves, network refreshes, server migrations, VPN deployments
- →Perform security assessments and implement network hardening recommendations
- →Manage and optimize firewall configurations (Meraki, FortiGate, SonicWall)
- →Support and mentor junior technicians on complex network issues
- →Contribute to pre-sales technical scoping for new client onboarding
- →Maintain detailed network documentation for all managed environments
What we need
Requirements
- 5+ years of network engineering experience in an MSP or enterprise environment
- Deep working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, SD-WAN, and VPN technologies
- Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms (Meraki, FortiGate, or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and hybrid identity environments
- Valid BC driver's license and ability to travel to client sites across Vancouver Island
- Excellent documentation habits and communication skills
Nice to have
- CCNP, CCNA, or equivalent network certification
- Experience with Meraki or Ubiquiti enterprise wireless deployments
- Familiarity with RMM platforms and PSA tools in an MSP context
- Previous experience leading infrastructure projects for First Nations or municipal clients
