Senior IT Technician
ALPHA IT is looking for an experienced, client-focused Senior IT Technician to lead the design, deployment, and implementation of IT projects. Microsoft 365 migrations, Azure deployments, cloud transformation, infrastructure upgrades, and cybersecurity improvements — you own it from scoping to delivery.
The role
Responsibilities
- →Lead the design, deployment, and implementation of client-facing IT projects and solutions
- →Plan and execute Microsoft 365 and Azure migrations including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, and Conditional Access
- →Deliver infrastructure projects: on-premises systems, virtualization, networking, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, and cybersecurity controls
- →Conduct client IT assessments and recommend practical, scalable solutions aligned with business needs
- →Work closely with Project Managers and sales to scope, engineer, and deliver solutions on time and on budget
- →Provide escalation support to help desk operations for complex technical troubleshooting
- →Deliver client training sessions and end-user guidance on newly deployed technologies
- →Maintain accurate technical documentation, standards, and procedures
What we need
Requirements
- 5+ years IT support experience, 4+ years in an MSP environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365: Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Defender
- Azure / Cloud: Entra ID, Conditional Access, Azure VMs, hybrid infrastructure, identity management
- Windows Server: AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, RDS, PowerShell
- Networking: firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, VLANs, subnetting, wireless
- Ability to commute to Courtenay office and travel to client sites (25%)
Nice to have
- ITIL v4 Foundation, CompTIA Network+/Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Azure/Security certifications
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft Copilot
- Experience working with municipalities and First Nations communities
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
